KUYT WANTS ROBIN AT FENER

The former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has said that he could one day influence the Manchester United striker Robin van Persie to join him at the Turkish club Fenerbahce. The Turkish club Fenerbahce have made a lot of high-profile signings from the Premier league following the arrival of Dirk Kuyt a few months ago.

The 31-year-old joined the Turkish club for around £ 1 million, thus bringing an end to his six-year association with Liverpool. He is already looking forward to winning many titles with his new club. He was extremely influential in helping the club secure the signing of the Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles on the final day of the transfer window.

Now, he has said that he could once again play a major role if the club decides to sign the Manchester United striker Robin van Persie, who is now regarded as one of the best in the world. The 29-year-old Dutchman recently completed a £ 24 million move to Manchester United, but everyone is aware of the fact that might not have a long time at Old Trafford due to his age. In such a scenario, Dirk Kuyt says that he can persuade his international teammate to join him at the Turkish club in the future.

“I could play a role in bringing Van Persie to Fenerbahçe, I’m going to try to bring him here, I have spoken to him about this many times and we were away on holiday together. Personally, I feel in better shape than in 2004, I have gotten over my barren spell and have scored six goals in six games for Fenerbahçe. Istanbul is a beautiful and relaxing city. I’m happy and have even thought about settling down here after my playing career,” said Dirk Kuyt. Fenerbahçe are unbeaten in the league so far.

KUYT MAKES THE PLAYOFFS

Fenerbahce has secured a place in the playoff round of the UEFA Champions League by defeating Vaslui by 4-1. Dirk Kuyt scored twice in the match and helped Fenerbahce in winning the match easily. Kuyt has joined Fenerbahce in June this year and he is performing brilliantly for the club in his very first season. Fenerbahce has bought Kuyt from Feyenoord after paying a transfer fee of 1 million Euros and it seems that the Turkish club has done the correct thing by investing in Kuyt. The Dutchman has joined Fenerbache on a contract of three years.

In the match against Vaslui, Kuyt scored both the goals in the second half. The Vaslui players started the match pretty well and were ahead till the 61st minute of the match. But, after that, they lost their control on the game and Fenerbache fired four goals in a space of 29 minutes. Vaslui took the lead pretty early in the match and got the opportunity to double the lead in the 52nd minute of the match. But, the team wasn’t able to take the advantage of the penalty kick. That was the turning point of the match. After that, the Fenerbache players played very aggressively. Stoch, who came to play as a substitute, scored the leveler in the 61st minute of the match. Kuyt took Fenerbahce ahead by scoring his first goal in the match in the 71st minute. He made the score 3-1 by scoring his second goal a few minutes later.

After scoring two goals, Kuyt was replaced by Moussa Sow in the 85th minute of the match. Immediately after coming on to the ground, Sow scored the fourth goal for Fenerbahce. Kuyt was named as the player of the match for his impressive performance.

DUTCH FACE UP TO DIFFICULIES

Former Liverpool star Dirk Kuyt has said that the Dutch national team was looking at a different kind of start to the Euro 2012. The Dutch were coming into the Euro 2012 as one of the favourites to win the competition, but were in the same group alongside Germany, Portugal and Denmark.

Hence, they faced a tough competition in order to get to the quarter-finals of the competition. The Dutch, though, were in for a shock after they lost their opening game against Denmark 1-0. It was followed by a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Portugal, which has put them on the brink of elimination from the competition.

Speaking to I Love Liverpool ahead of the Portugal match, the former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has said that he and his teammates did not see the competition going in such a bad manner. Despite having some of the best players in the world including the likes of Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben, the team has found it extremely hard to score goals and create chances. As a result, Dirk Kuyt has said that the team should focus more on creating more chances in the final group game against Cesc Fabregas‘s Spain. Netherlands still have a slim chance of making it into the quarter-finals.

“Everyone was very disappointed afterwards. We had a different start to this tournament in mind. We must now deliver a top performance against Portugal. If Germany do their job, then we can still progress to the next round. We got two good opportunities, but then their [Germany’s] first chance was an instant goal. We really had to continue in the same footing, but we couldn’t. We then went all out in our play, and Robin [van Persie] scored a beautiful goal. But they were dangerous on the counter. If we had been more compact, we could have helped each other more,” said Kuyt.

HAMBURG HINT AT KUYT MOVE

Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt is probably heading towards Bundesliga side Hamburg after the Hamburg coach Thorsten Fink called him a ‘class’ footballer. In August 2006, Kuyt came to Liverpool for £9 million from Dutch club Feyenoord and he has another year in his contract with the English club, but rumors circulation that he may leave for Germany in the summer transfer window.

Thorsten Fink, who guided the Bundesliga club safely after a dreadful beginning of the league campaign, is a huge admirer of the Dutch international and he described the thirty-one year as a fighter. While speaking to Kicker, a German sports mag, he told that there is nothing extra requires to be told about the quality of Dirk Kuyt. Whether it is something they feel, they want to commit, they will see.

Fink’s statements follow the same sentiments from Frank Arnesen, club’s technical director, a few of weeks ago. While speaking to Bild, club official told that a footballer like Dirk Kuyt, who is in a nice shape till now, can include many thongs to any team. He is truly a team player with an attitude.

Previously, Dirk Kuyt’s agent denied the rumors of his transfer to Hamburg. His agent revealed that there have not been any negotiations with Arnesen or with anyone else from the German club.

On that occasion, though, Kuyt’s agent denied there had been any contact with the club. He cannot say the Dutch international would like to go to Bundesliga. Several clubs had some enquiries, but as of now, nothing is sure.

KUYT BACKS SUAREZ TO STAY

Liverpool winger Dirk Kuyt has said that striker Luis Suarez is extremely happy at the club, which has been marked by a return to form for the Uruguayan striker. Luis Suarez has been criticised in various quarters for the racial problem involving him and Manchester United defender Patrice Evra. He was subsequently found guilty of racial abuse against the French left back, and was banned for eight games. Since his return from the suspension, Luis Suarez has not always been the same player. He has found it difficult to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. However, after his impressive performance against Everton and the 11th goal of the season against Stoke city, Dirk Kuyt says that Luis Suarez is back to form.

This has been a difficult season for the Uruguayan, but he has now reaffirmed his commitment to Liverpool after he appeared to suggest that he may move in the summer to new pastures. One of the top destinations being rumoured was French club PSG. Luis Suarez was openly admitted his admiration for the French club, who are currently managed by former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti. It is thought that they would be willing to bid around £ 35 million in the summer, but the recent run of form has made Luis Suarez confirm his commitment to the club.

“I speak a lot with Luis Suarez and he has always been happy with the club, with the supporters and with his team-mates. Everyone was standing behind him during a difficult period for him here. I never had the feeling that he wasn’t anything but happy at Liverpool. He had a very difficult time with what happened to him but he has put all that right behind him,” Kuyt said ahead of the match with QPR on Wednesday night.

KUYT: BELLAMY IS UNBELIEVABLE

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has said that Craig Bellamy has become unbelievable for Liverpool in recent weeks. Craig Bellamy was signed on a free transfer from Manchester City in the summer, but few would have realised that he would have become the most important player at Liverpool as of now. Injuries to the likes of Steven Gerrard and the poor form of Andy Carroll has meant that Craig Bellamy has risen in prominence of late. Further, the suspension of Luis Suarez has meant that Craig Bellamy has been one of the main players at Liverpool this season, despite having a number of injury problems of his own.

The 31-year-old Dirk Kuyt has said that Craig Bellamy has been one of the best players at Liverpool this season and none would have believed that he would be of such an impact at Anfield. This is the second spell at Anfield for Craig Bellamy, and Dirk Kuyt has said that the Welshman has been even better than in his first spell. Craig Bellamy is coming to the end of his career, but still has not lost the goal threat. He still remains as one of the fastest players within the Liverpool squad. Hence, it is not surprising to know that he has scored nine goals in 23 matches for Liverpool.

“Craig has been unbelievable. He came late in August and we did not pay a transfer fee. He has been a brilliant signing for us and looks even better now than he did the first time he came here. It’s not very often you can say that about a player who plays for a club in two spells,” the 31-year-old told the LFC magazine. Dirk Kuyt was speaking on the occasion after having scored his 50th goal of his Liverpool career.
